2) In Quotes – The Wisdom of Ralph Waldo Emerson. I don’t know of another writer with a greater gift for words than Emerson.

A chief event of life is the day in which we have encountered a mind that startled us.

As long as a man stands in his own way, everything seems to be in his way.

As soon as there is life there is danger.

As we grow old, the beauty steals inward.

Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.

In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can imagine.

Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.

The revelation of thought takes men out of servitude into freedom.

You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

3) International Women’s Day – March 8th

How much different would the world be if it were run by women?

An International Women’s Day was established at the first International Women’s Conference in Copenhagen in 1910. In the West, International Women’s Day was not observed as a popular event until 1977 when the United Nations General Assembly invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the UN Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.

The legal rights of women have expanded in many parts of the world since then. Overall record for treating women with qualitiy, and protection from abuse, is still very inadquate inadequate.
