I can’t think of anything creative to post about so I will just re-post my favorite love songs.
What are some of your favorite love songs?
What was the first “special” song you can remember from when you started dating?
1) The favorite love song of my first girlfriend was George Hamilton IV, “A Rose and a Baby Ruth”, 1956. For the first dance I took her to I showed up with a yellow rose, her favorite color, and a Baby Ruth candy bar.

2) My current favorite love song is the Diana Krall’s version of “The Look of Love”.
3) Another favorite love song I just found on YouTube. Roberta Flack – “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, from 1971.

Bacharach’s Look of Love and McColl’s First time ever… are two truly beautiful love songs although the latter is a slower cover of the original written some ten years earlier and is the one i prefer to the faster version.
The Rose and Baby Ruth is DEFINITELY from a time before mine
My First ‘love’ song was Lady Lynda by the Beach Boys (her name was Linda and it was a current song) – it does not evoke such sweet memories now however
Again too many favourites to name one but at various times some of my favourites have been: Three Times a Lady; Devil Woman (Cliff Richard) Torn (Natalie Imbruglia); The Nature Boy (Love and be loved in return -Nat King Cole); Angel (Sarah Mclachlan)… the list just goes on.

I don’t remember ever hearing the original version of The First Time Every I Saw Your Face, McColl wrote for Peggy Seeger. I like this original version better because in general I prefer the acoustical version of most songs.
I also don’t remember the Beach Boys “Lady Lynda”, and they were one of my favorite groups. Although all of their songs that I like come from before Brain Wilson went off the deep end.
Nature Boy by Nat King Cole has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it back in the 1950’s

Indian Lake Papa
It was July 10, 1965 – my wedding day. Mama had selected the songs for that day, almost 45 years ago. One of those songs was, “Whither Thou Goest”. One line says, (as I cry right now) “Whither thou goest I will go. wither thou lodge I will lodge.” Mama has done that faithfully for almost 45 years. ED, what more love could she have given me? I am very touched right now as I think of her love and commitment.

Papa, both you and Mama have been blessed with the love and commitment you have for each other. “Whither Thou Goest” is the perfect song for a wedding.
