Michelle, one of the great experiences in life to to teaching, and seeing a students eyes "light up with knowledge.

We all have our handicaps, most mental not physical, and we can all make a contribution if given the opportunity.

One of my aunts children was born with downs syndrome. She has often told me that of her six children he is the one who has given her the most love, and support. He did attend high school and was chosen to be part of the cheerleading squad.

My nephew is severely handicapped. I had the privilege of homeschooling him for a couple of years, before my sister was able to find a program which would mainstream him into the regular classroom. It was a great time to see the progress he made, to find new ways of teaching a concept so his eyes would "lighten" with the knowledge, to enjoy his laughter and hear his insights concerning life...very good times.

We are all humans in need of love, acceptance, knowledge and life.
